ch [tʃʰ]

Tłį Chǫ (Dogrib), Behchokǫ̀  -  Phoneme: ch [tʃʰ]  -  IPA: Post-alveolar affricate, voiceless

Word: sechi [sɛtʃʰi] "younger brother"  -  Speaker: SP2

In this example the ch [tʃʰ] is in stem initial, intervocalic position. The closure period is partly voiced but the fricative release is voiceless. Notice the release portion of this segemnt is quite longer, longer than the closure. This is also a characteristic pattern across the Dene languages.
