North Slavey, Deline  -  Phoneme: dl [tɬ]  -  IPA: Unaspirated lateral affricate.

1 Word: dléa [tɬlejə] "squirrel"  -  Speaker: SP5

This is an example of an unaspirated lateral affricate, with partially voiced release. Note that the release portion, the fricative, begins as a voiced fricative, and changes into a lateral approximant, the transition is clearly visible in the waveform and spectrogram. This sound is transcribed as dɬl, though is could also have been transcribed as tɬl.

2 Word: naredlo [nɑʁɛdlo] "laughing"  -  Speaker: SP5

An example of dl sound in stem initial position.Note also the r sound, here a well articulated central approximant.
