Biography

As the Department Manager for Linguistics, I oversee a broad range of administrative, financial, and academic operations to support faculty, staff, and students. With expertise in procurement, budget reconciliation, and grant administration, I manage purchasing processes, vendor invoices, and financial reporting to ensure the department operates efficiently. I also handle faculty affairs, assisting with hiring processes, tenure and promotion cases, and leave requests, while managing key budget proposals for faculty accounts and departmental initiatives.

Beyond financial and faculty matters, I play a crucial role in academic operations, overseeing curriculum management, course scheduling, and both undergraduate and graduate program administration. I work closely with the Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies to coordinate admissions, policies, TA assignments, registration, and student funding. Additionally, I facilitate international student and faculty support through UR Compass, ensure compliance with university payroll processes, and maintain the department’s website.

Committed to continuous improvement, I contribute to large-scale departmental initiatives such as space planning, reorganization efforts, and strategic planning. Whether coordinating major projects, managing documentation, or serving on key committees, I strive to enhance efficiency and foster a well-supported academic environment.
