Feature Story

Public Health-Related Programs is pleased to announce the first recipient of the Ted Brown Undergraduate Award in Health Justice.

Sarah Cushman, a senior majoring in health, behavior, and society, is a Rochester Education Justice Initiative (REJI) scholar who has been a passionate advocate for the underserved. Her independent research project revised URMC’s policies for the treatment for incarcerated individuals, and throughout her undergraduate career she has worked as a community health specialist at Trillium Health—living her commitment to improving community care for marginalized individuals.
