Declaring Your Major or Minor

When you are ready to declare your major or minor, please schedule a meeting with your business program advisor to complete the major/minor declaration form.

The pre-major/minor course requirements should not be included on this form. We will check that you have completed these requirements as part of the review process. Students will need to tentatively select which electives you will take, however, these can be easily updated with the help of your business program advisor.

For the BS major, 15 courses should be listed (9 core + 6 track courses/electives).

For the BA major, 11 courses should be listed (8 core + 3 electives)

For the minor, 5 courses should be listed (3 core + 2 electives)

Students will receive an email once the form has been submitted and ready to be reviewed. Students will receive another email once the form has been approved. If you have any questions, please reach out to your business program advisor.

Note: Students wishing to pursue both a BA and a BS, or two bachelors of science programs, must submit a Petition to the Administrative Committee seeking permission to pursue the double degree (after both majors have been approved). All double-degree students need to follow the policies regarding double majors, must complete a minimum of 136 credit hours, and must complete all of the graduation requirements for each of their degrees.
