Lighting Console Programmer & Theatre Electrician
Jeff Englander is a lighting console programmer based in the New York City area. He works in various types of productions, including Broadway shows, concerts, opera, and events. Recent works include Three Tall Women (Broadway), Cabaret (Manhattan School of Music), Hugo Boss 2019 Fall and Winter Fashion Show, Santa Fe Opera 2011-2017 Seasons, and the NETworks tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Jeff graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 2010. At UR, Jeff spent most of his time at URITP, when not in engineering classes. He took as many technical theatre related elective courses as he had time for. After graduating, he utilized contacts that he had made at URITP to go on to work on various productions as either a technical director, stage manager, carpenter, electrician, or lighting designer. In 2011, Jeff was hired as the lighting programmer at the Santa Fe Opera, and has been focused primarily on lighting programming ever since. Jeff is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). He recently completed a six month long backpacking trip, hiking the entirety of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine with his loving wife, Hannah.
