Lab Overview
I study human relationships in all their forms—romance, friendship, colleagueship, family, and even casual acquaintances. As a social-personality psychologist, I draw on theory and rigorous scientific methods to uncover the processes that help relationships flourish or falter, grow or deteriorate, bring joy and fulfillment, or foster loneliness and hurt. At heart, I am driven by a deep curiosity about the processes that shape the course and quality of our connections with others. My recent work has explored themes such as responsiveness, listening, chemistry, love, intimacy, attachment, support, commitment, sexuality, and emotion regulation.
I am also keenly interested in the implications of relationships for our health and well-being. If you’d like to know more, I invite you to visit my Research and Publications pages, where you’ll find descriptions of and links to my work.
