Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS) Minor
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences now offers a minor in Earth and planetary sciences. This minor would appeal primarily to students pursuing majors in STEM fields who are interested in careers in earth resources, space research, and administration. Public service employers include NASA, the EPA, and the US Geological Survey. There are also several opportunities in private exploration and in the academic field, including graduate studies.

The Laser Lab: A Unique Resource
The University’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) is the largest university-based Department of Energy research program in the nation. It also houses the most powerful laser systems found at any academic institution in the world. At the lab, researchers from all over the world probe the extremes of temperature and pressure in laboratory-scale experiments.
