Valerie Johnson Accepts Tenure-Track Job at University of Montevallo
Please join us in congratulating Valerie Johnson (2012), who will be joining the University of Montevallo's English & Foreign Languages Department as an Assistant Professor this coming fall. For the past three years, Valerie has held a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellowship at Georgia Tech's School of Literature, Media, and Communication; during that time she also co-edited a collection of essays, Robin Hood in Outlaw/ed Spaces: Media, Performance, and Other New Directions (Routledge 2016), which included her essay "A Forest of Her Own: Greenwood-Space and the Forgotten Female Characters of the Robin Hood Tradition." She is also the author of "Agamben's homo sacer, the 'State of Exception', and the Modern Robin Hood," which appeared in Robin Hood in the Greenwood Stood: Alterity and Context in the English Outlaw Tradition (Brepols, 2012). While at Rochester, Valerie served as General Editor of The Robin Hood Project.
