Thesis Extensions
Thesis extensions are for a limited duration. They are not granted lightly. To request a thesis extension your advisor must send a letter to the director of graduate studies containing the following information:
- A statement giving the current status of the thesis: This must include an outline of the progress to date, an evaluation of its quality, and an indication of what remains to be done. A prognosis about completion should be given.
- A statement giving an expected date of completion: This letter will then be forwarded on to the dean of graduate studies who makes all decisions about whether or not to grant an extension, and if so, for how long.
