Congratulations to Ben Kozloff for being awarded the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship)! This competitive fellowship provides support for outstanding undergraduate students in organic chemistry to carry out research at their home institutions during the summer between their junior and senior year. Fellows are selected on the basis of their research proposals, academic records, and demonstrated passion for laboratory science.

Ben's proposal, titled "Building molecular complexity through the reductive halo-Nazarov cyclization" aims to develop a mild reductive ionization protocol for the halo-Prins/ halo-Nazarov sequence, to gain access to a perse library of densely functionalized sp3- rich small molecules. This method will enable the stereoselective synthesis of novel cyclopentenes, with potential applications in drug discovery.

Congrats again, Ben!
