Hello! My name is Sameeha Sultana. I am from Houston, Texas. During high school, I became interested in chemistry after carving out a jack o’lantern with acetylene gas and a lighter. My chemistry class quite literally sparked my curiosity, and I sought out research experiences that have allowed me to see its applications in different fields. As an undergraduate, I aim to learn what skills and knowledge researchers in chemistry develop to tackle real-world challenges that range from energy conversion, catalysis, and environmental sustainability. I am excited to see what it means to be a chemist through the Thorarinsdottir Group! In my free time, I am most likely rowing with my team, reading a fantasy book with good world building, or volunteering at the hospital.
