Department of BiologyBiochemistry and Molecular Biology ProgramBiomedical Genetics and Genomics Program

Ning did her Ph.D. work in the Dept. of Molecular Genetics at the Ohio State University where she studied cytokinesis and cell division. She then joined the Dept. of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School for her postdoc training where she focused on ER morphology and membrane-curvature generating proteins.

Ruisi (Teresa) Qin

Ruisi earned her B.S. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and majored in Cell and Developmental Biology. She is studying regulation of organelle morphology using both yeast and mammalian cell culture.

Jake Romley Murias

Jake is our very first graduate student from the PHD program of Molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. He works on projects related to ER stress response.

Jacqueline Morin

Jacqui earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Gettysburg College, where she also minored in mathematics. She is a Ph.D. student from the Department of Biomedical Genetics at URMC, studying the selective autophagy of organelles using both yeast and mammalian cell culture. Outside the lab, Jacqui enjoys knitting and practicing yoga.

Kai Xu

Kai is a master’s student in the Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental (CMD) Biology program. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Biotechnology and Cell Biology from a joint program between Wuhan University of Technology and Aix-Marseille University. His current research focuses on the role of autophagy in the invasive activity of breast cancer cells.
