MFA, Imaging Arts, Rochester Institute of Technology

Megan Metté has been teaching lens-based studio art courses at the University of Rochester since 2014, and in 2018 her role expanded to cover a variety of tasks for the Art and Art History Department. As the Art New York and Studio Art Manager, she helps UR students accepted into the Art New York internship program navigate living and working in New York City, and she curates a program of exhibitions, events, publications, and displays to promote knowledge about art on campus and in the Art New York program.

In her artistic practice, Megan uses lens-based imagery to question our expectations of ideal environments and the things that we do to feel in control. As an artist and a curator, Megan is often drawn to interdisciplinary collaborations, bringing together musicians, dancers, and visual artists across diverse media.
