The Castle Lab at the University of Rochester is recruiting young children to participate in studies investigating how children think about other people’s minds, emotions, and social groups. Studies are held over Zoom or in-person and consist of short, fun games lasting 15 to 45 minutes.

We are recruiting children ages 3 to 12 to participate in our studies.
You and your child will meet with a researcher over Zoom. The researcher will play 1 to 3 short story-based games with your child. The study will take 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of games played.
Your child will receive a thank-you gift of up to $5.00, in the form of a gift card, small prize, book, or toy.
Yes! However, we ask that each child plays the study games independently.
Yes! Our studies are primarily held over Zoom so we accept participants from anywhere in the United States.
