Xuwen Chen awarded NSF grant

Assistant professor Xuwen Chen has been awarded a 3-year National Science Foundation grant in the amount of $107,444 for a project entitled Mean-Field Limits of Quantum Many-Body Dynamics and Free Boundaries in Kinetic Theory.
Through this project, Xuwen intends to find a rigorous mathematical justification for a set of problems which have a complete description from the physical point of view. Techniques from harmonic analysis, probability, and spectral theory will be used in analyzing these problems.
