Conference
We are very excited for the 2013 Undergraduate Research Conference, a symposium for undergraduate students involved with SBAI to learn about what their peers are working on and an opportunity to enrich your Gender and Women's Studies education. The conference is free and open to community members.
Jennifer Kyker, Assistant Professor of Music, will deliver this year's keynote lecture: "Music, Activism, and Social Change: The Possibilities of Undergraduate Research." As an undergraduate student at Mount Holyoke College, Jennifer Kyker received her first ever, summer research grant in 2000. Now a professor of music at the University of Rochester, Dr. Kyker will discuss how music, activism, and social change have come together in her work, most notably through the non-profit organization Tariro. Founded by Dr. Kyker in 2003, Tariro works to educate and empower underprivileged girls in Zimbabwean communities affected by HIV/AIDS.
