Film Screening and Discussion
Carvin Eison, filmmaker, and Darryl Porter, Assistant to Major Richards and 1964 President of The Matadors street club will join the audience for a conversation after the film. About the film: "Violence erupted at a street dance on a hot July night when a routine arrest took a turn for the worse and ended when the National Guard was called to a northern city for the first time during the civil rights era. July 64 gives voice to the people who lived it, and tells the story of three days of conflict and unrest that altered the course of history in Rochester, New York."
