Join the Arthur Satz Department of Music for a weekend of African dance, drumming, and music workshops with teachers Solo Sana (Mali), Rujeko Dumbutshena (Zimbabwe) and Atibe Rorie. All workshops are free and open to the general public and will be held in the University of Rochester's Spurrier Dance Studio.

Our schedule will be as follows:

Friday, April 19
2-3:30 p.m.: West African Dance with Solo Sana

Saturday, April 20
5-6 p.m.: West African drumming with Atiba Rorie
6-7 p.m.: West African singing with Solo Sana
7-8:30 p.m.: Contemporary African dance with Rujeko Dumbutshena

Sunday, April 21
1-2:30 p.m.: West African drumming with Atiba Rorie
2:30-3:30 p.m.: West African dance with Solo Sana
3:30-4:30 p.m.: Zimbabwean rhythm and song with Rujeko Dumbutshena
4:30-6 p.m.: Zimbabwean dance with Rujeko Dumbutshena
