Rigaku XtaLAB Synergy-S diffraction system
Description
Our
Rigaku Synergy-S diffractometer with Kappa (4-circle) geometry was purchased
with an NSF MRI grant in 2017 (CHE-1725028).
It
is equipped with dual PhotonJet-S microfocus X-ray
sources, delivering Mo Kα and Cu
Kα radiation (50 kV, 1 mA). The
latter has remote control slits for divergence adjustment (9 mR to 1 mR).
A
HyPix-6000HE HPC detector provides state-of-the-art photon reading, optimized
for sensitivity and speed.
Collection
temperatures from 90 to 400 K are controlled by a Cryostream 800 low temperature device from Oxford Cryosystems.
Experiments
Data
collections, which generally take from 1 to 6 hours, are performed at 100 K,
unless a different temperature is requested or warranted.
Data
collection, reduction, and correction are managed by the CrysAlisPro suite of programs from Rigaku
Oxford Diffraction.
Structure
solution and refinement are performed with SHELX software.
Structure manipulation and figure generation
are performed using Olex2.
Absolute
configuration can be determined for most single crystals.
