Biography

My name is Cloria Sutton-Dowdell. I have an associate's degree in human service, a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and dance, and a master's degree in liberal studies with a concentration in dance. I'm also a graduate of the Greater Rochester Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI), an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) at the 500-hour level, and have a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) Certificate with a Trauma-Informed Focus.

I teach yoga at yoga4agoodhood, TRU Yoga Rochester, the YMCA of Greater Rochester, and I am the founder of the youth organization Peaceful Youth Leaders.

I have practiced yoga since 2011 and was introduced through dance while at the time dealing with Major Depressive Disorder and anxiety. It was early in my practice when I found a sense of freedom on my mat and later decided to deepen my practice. I learned to forgive myself for past mistakes, and take life day by day on life's terms, embracing change. It's my hope, dream, and aspiration to share that sense of freedom with all!
