Arkajit Mandal Wins 2022 Outstanding Dissertation Award

Arkajit Mandal was recently selected as the winner of the 2022 Outstanding Dissertation Award for the Natural Sciences in Arts, Sciences and Engineering. This award is in recognition of the truly outstanding dissertation and Arkajit's exceptional research as a graduate student at the University of Rochester.
Arkajit received his Ph.D. in 2022 under the guidance of research advisor Professor Pengfei (Frank) Huo, and is currently a Post Doc at Columbia University working with Prof. David Reichman.
The title of Arkajit’s thesis was, “Quantum dynamics simulation of photons and molecules”. During this thesis research, Arkajit worked on developing on-the-fly quantum dynamics approaches and used them to investigate new chemical reactivities induced by quantum interactions between photons and molecules inside an optical cavity.
