Research Experience
Antibiotic Resistance of Lake Water Bacteria- Dr. David Mitchell The goal of this research project was to investigate occurrence of antibiotic resistance in lake water bacteria in central Minnesota. Antibiotic resistance was scored using the Kirby-Bauer method.
Identification of Environmentally-Friendly Photocatalysts-Dr. Yan-Hong He The goal of this research project was to assess the efficacy of cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly photocatalysts Rose Bengal and eosin Y in MacMillan SOMO photocatalysis.
Current Research
My current research relates structure and function in the class I preQ1 riboswitch. Specifically, the goal of my research is to characterize how ligand recognition in the aptamer domain coordinates structural changes in the downstream expression platform and how these changes ultimately attenuate gene expression in live cells.
