Research Experience
Spring 2020-Spring 2022 Dr. Michelle Bunagan; Studied the effect of concentration on the structure of a G3LEA peptide under dehydration conditions using UV/Vis spectroscopy and circular dichroism. Developed a methodology to dry peptides on salt plates to mimic a dehydrated environment when investigating secondary structure.
Current Research
My current research involves developing dendron based systems that can self-assemble into supramolecular capsules to selectively bind misfolded proteins and refold the protein to its native state after inducing a conformational switch. Investigating these artificial chaperone systems can potentially prevent the formation of aggregates that can cause harmful diseases, such as Alzheimer's.
